A+ Fast Track

This hands-on course domains introduces a broad range of basic computer hardware and software topics. It is a valuable industry credential that validates the fundamental level skills and knowledge of computer professionals. Industry and government employers accept A+ as the standard in foundation-level, vendor-neutral computer certification. The new 2009 curriculum, which covers a broad range of topics such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking, is presented at a university level and pace.


Audience and Prerequisites

A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today's computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. A+ confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The new exams (2009 objectives) also cover domains such as security, safety and environmental issues and communication and professionalism.

This hands-on course will teach you to effectively plan, install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot information systems in a wide range of computing environments.

Through real world examples and professional guidance, students will gain a basic foundation in computer hardware and software across many platforms.

This course is designed for individuals who have some basic computer experience and wish to prepare for introductory roles in the installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware, software and networks. Related experience might include familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and the Internet.
