Overview

Security+

Security+ is a very popular course that can be attended independently or taken as one of the five highly demanded computer industry certification courses in the Information Technology Foundation certificate program. This course is ideal for anyone wanting to start a career or advance their career in the IT industry. Security+ is a vendor neutral course that covers a broad range of introductory and more advanced topics across many crucial areas of computer security issues and security technology that are in great demand in the industry and the government today.
Although there are no hands-on computer exercises, this course taught by industry professionals, will build a strong conceptual knowledge of security techniques and prepare students for the Security+ certification exam as well as build their skill sets to move forward in real world computing careers.
Security+ validates knowledge of communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, operational security, and general security concepts. This classroom course curriculum covers prevention of information technology theft and security of intellectual property as well as theory of security implementation and management. Industry and government employers have a growing need for skilled computer security professionals to combat hackers, decrease financial losses and secure valuable data.
